Bubbaway was born not long after my first baby, after a humiliating experience at a popular restaurant in London. I’d booked somewhere that seemed family-friendly for lunch with a friend and my new baby. We took our first train journey up to London, got to the restaurant and was immediately told “No, no, no! You can’t bring that pram in here.”

I thought I’d done everything right. I’d looked for somewhere accessible (to fit the pram) and I left them a note in the booking to say I’d be bringing my new baby.

I was turned away, embarrassed in front of a restaurant full of people, because the place was too small and busy to accommodate the pram. Luckily, we ended up in a Mexican around the corner that was far more welcoming! 

It was that situation and talking to many other parents who felt anxious about going out and knowing the right places to go, that led to me setting up Bubbaway; a platform to help you find the best family and child-friendly places to eat, drink, stay and play.

We’ve only just started but I can’t wait to build a community of parents who want to enjoy stress-free family adventures too!
