The Maritime Museum, aptly set beside the historic harbour of St Helier, is all about seafaring, navigation and the elements, told through the stories of the people of Jersey. It’s far from dry (no pun intended) though it’s indubitably educational, there are loads of fun features to amuse the kids like the unique knitted coral reef exhibit, a moving sculpture and a traditional Punch And Judy Theatre! Through interactive exhibits you can feel the force of a gale, understand the tides and even learn how to design and float a ship! You can immerse yourselves in songs and stories of the sea and find out about the Island’s many myths and legends. A gift shop is open in the museum for a souvenir or 2 and admission to the Occupation Tapestry Gallery is included with your entry to Maritime Museum. Bonus! Bear in mind though the Nearest public car parks are at the Waterfront, the Esplanade, Pier Road and Sand Street. However if you pick up a free walking guide from the museum you can check out the local landmarks, heritage stops and visitor attractions en route!
